2. Description of Service
Verify News is a news aggregation and credibility scoring platform that collects publicly available news content from major global sources, cross-references stories, and provides algorithmic credibility scores. The Service is provided for informational purposes only. Credibility scores are generated algorithmically and do not constitute editorial endorsement or legal advice.
3. User Accounts
You must create an account to access personalised features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically download content; impersonate any person or entity; transmit spam, malware, or harmful content; attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service; or use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its operation.
5. Intellectual Property
The Verify News platform, including its design, algorithms, and branding, is owned by Verify News and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. News content displayed on the platform is sourced from third-party publishers and remains the property of those publishers. Credibility scores and platform-generated summaries are the intellectual property of Verify News.
6. Team Workspace
Team Workspace features allow users to collaborate on news verification. By sharing content within a workspace, you grant other workspace members the right to view and reference that content. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any content you add to a workspace. Workspace owners may remove members or content at any time.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Verify News does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of news content or credibility scores. We are not responsible for decisions made based on information provided through the Service. News content is sourced from third parties and we do not endorse or verify the views expressed therein.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Verify News shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may terminate your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
10. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms of Use at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the platform. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts.
