Source Transparency
Where the information
comes from
Verify News aggregates and cross-references coverage from major global news organizations. We believe full transparency about our sources is essential to the trust we ask you to place in us.
Tier System
How we classify sources
Every outlet in the Verify News network is assigned a tier based on editorial standards, fact-checking practices, global reach, and correction transparency. Tier classification directly influences credibility scoring.
Tier 1 — Flagship
Major international wire services and globally recognized outlets with established editorial standards, dedicated fact-checking, and transparent correction policies.
Tier 2 — Established
Well-regarded national and regional outlets with strong editorial track records, recognized in their respective markets for quality journalism.
Tier 3 — Supplementary
Regional, specialist, and independent outlets that provide valuable local or niche coverage. Weighted lower in credibility scoring.
Tier 1 Sources
Tier 2 Sources
Tier 3 Sources
Tier 3 includes a broad and evolving set of regional and specialist outlets. Full list available on request.
Our Principles
How we stay independent
Editorial Independence
We do not accept payment from news outlets for inclusion or preferential placement. Source tier ratings are based on editorial standards, not commercial relationships.
Tier Classification
Sources are classified by editorial standing, fact-checking practices, correction policies, and global reach — not by political alignment or ownership.
Regular Review
Source classifications are reviewed periodically. Outlets can be reclassified based on changes in editorial standards or ownership.
No Endorsement
Inclusion in the Verify News source network does not constitute editorial endorsement of any outlet's positions, coverage, or editorial choices.
Verify News provides cross-source comparison and multi-outlet visibility as part of a verification framework. Source inclusion reflects feed availability and does not imply editorial partnership, endorsement, or affiliation. Source classifications are subject to change. For questions about source inclusion, contact us at [email protected].
